Traeger Grills embarked on a nationwide “Welcome to the Traegerhood” campaign implementing out-of-home advertising locally in Salt Lake City and 14 markets across the country. TBA was challenged to spark national media interest for the brand coinciding with grilling season securing coverage about the brand and its wood-pellet grills.
To garner interest from the national media, TBA produced a “Welcome to the Traegerhood” media mailer comprised of all the grilling essentials, including a recipe book, BBQ multi-tool, stickers, and pellets, along with the centerpiece, a Traeger Ironwood 885. The media mailers allowed TBA to build exceptional rapport with existing relationships and forge new ones with a host of national media outlets. “Welcome to the Traegerhood” media mailers became the catalyst to ignite the fire of national media members enticing them to cover the brand heading into the most important time of year for Traeger, grilling season.
In total, TBA sent out 30+ “Welcome to the Traegerhood” media mailers to a wide breadth of national media, including FORBES, Popular Science, Engadget, Rolling Stone, Good Housekeeping, Newsweek, and the Food Network to name a few. Making it more of a landmark victory, Traeger had executed “media mailers” in the past, but they failed to garner significant coverage. To date, TBA has generated 20 national media placements equating to 320M in potential audience reach, which made this particular effort incredibly valuable to showcase TBA’s overall agency acumen and expertise in different marketing disciplines.
