Adipower Boost™ Multi-Sports Skills Challenge

Adidas Golf

Are professional golfers athletes? We put them to the test.

Create excitement and awareness for the benefits of adidas BOOST™ technology coming to golf.
The Brand Amp set out to dispel the notion that golfers are not “athletes.” Working with adidas Golf, Trump National in Doral, FL and the PGA TOUR, we held a Multi-Sport Skills Challenge that pitted PGA Tour stars against other professional athletes in one-on-one competitions to demonstrate that golfers truly are athletes. The lineup of events included Dustin Johnson facing Miami Heat World Champion Shane Battier in a three-point shooting contest, Sergio Garcia and former U.S. National team star Alexi Lalas in a penalty-kick shootout, J.B. Holmes and Miami Dolphins Quarterback Ryan Tannehill in a passing accuracy competition, and a sprint race between a First Tee junior golfer and Olympic gold medalist Maurice “Mo” Greene. All “athletes” wore adipower BOOST™ shoes.

In addition to raising $10,000 for two local charities and showcasing BOOST™ in grand fashion, the event generated a wave of coverage from attending media, including CNBC, Golf Channel, Sports Illustrated; and a host of local Miami media, including FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, Univision, Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Palm Beach Post. Also CBS’ broadcast of the WGC Cadillac Championship included a feature about the event along with dialogue about it from the broadcast team. Sales of the BOOST™ shoe exploded at retail.
